  3rd Annual Soundscape.
11 October 2011
You are warmly invited to come to our SOUNDSCAPE event at Nevill Hall Hospital Abergavenny on the afternoon of Sunday October 16th anytime between 2 and 5pm. Aaron will be playing gongs with Chrys Blanchard and singing along with the other participants. The Outpatients Waiting Hall at Nevill Hall Hospital Abergavenny will transform into a beautiful space filled with rich, resonant, relaxing sounds. The live music will weave together the magical sounds of Gongs, Tibetan singing bowls and other unusual instruments with more than 30 voices. Singers are coming from all over the UK especially to take part in this event. You can also receive a 'sound transfusion' which involves being surrounded by a wealth of healing sounds in your own personal 'sound bath', or sit and relax in the harp chair and feel the pleasant effect of the vibration travelling through your body as the harp strings are being strummed. You are invited to drop in on Sunday afternoon at any point. Visitors will be able to wander around the space as the music plays or sit for as long as they like and listen. Many people find that listening to these kinds of sounds can induce a feeling of deep relaxation and rest. The hospital's Consultant Paediatrician Tom Williams says "It is important to include the Arts as part of the healing process. The Soundscape can help people to take their minds off their worries and help soothe the mind." The event is free

"SOUNDSCAPE" - bringing positive sound into public spaces"
08 October 2010
Would you like to take part in SOUNDSCAPE this October? Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, South Wales UK. FRI 15th - Sun 17th Oct 2010 with Chrys Blanchard. I will be playing gongs with Chrys. Chrys is looking for volunteer vocalists who have either worked with her before, have worked with healing voice or who are comfortable around using their voice and are interested in learning to use their voice for sound healing. We will be learning to use using simple vowel sounds, chakra sounds, pure tones and overtones. Following last year's succesful SOUNDSCAPE we will create a similar event, building on the experience that was gained by the pilot project. We will create an event that fills the spacious, lightfilled outpatients waiting area with the beautiful sounds of voices, gongs, tibetan singing bowls and a few other magical sounding instruments. This event will not take the form of a usual concert, but will be more like visiting and art gallery or museum. SOUNDSCAPE will offer a deep listening space where people can experience deep resonance and it's affect on them. Visitors will be invited to wander through the spce in silence and spend as little or as long as they wish there. Throughout the 3 hours of the event, the sounds will move between pure voices and ancient sounds of gongs and singing bowls. " It is my intention to provide a piece of art that bears witness to the tenderness and compassion that human beings extend to each other in their efforts to provide comfort and support" PARTICIPANTS Those who wish to take part will come to Abergavenny and take part in a workshop over the weekend to join as a group, prepare and learn to create the healing sounds for the 'performance'

Jarvis Cocker Slaps skin at Best ever Greenman!
27 August 2009
2009 Greenman at Glanusk was the best ever! Not just because of the weather, not just because the Slappingskins team of drummers and percussionists did me proud during the workshops and the Sunday parade, not just because we performed impromptu sets all over the site nor because Jarvis Cockers set on the Saturday night was brill. My Greenman highlight this year was running my usual workshop on a Sunday morning and having Jarvis and his crew join-in for a Slappingskins session. He drummed to Moribayassa complete with breaks and solos and made my day! Cheers Jarvis. (Make sure you make the parade next year!)
